CNC turning routed through Quick Brown Fox Solutions runs across eight turning centers in our production network, covering chucker, bar-fed, and live-tool configurations. The lineup is intentionally diverse so the machine can be matched to the part — small-diameter precision shafts go on the high-precision lathe, large-diameter chucker work goes on the heavy spindle-bore machines, and any part needing cross-drilling, flats, or off-axis features goes on a live-tool lathe to come off complete in one setup.
Every turning job is programmed and proven against the customer drawing. We review the drawing, propose workholding, and quote machine time against expected cycle. ISO 9001:2015 quality records follow every part through the network, and QBF carries UEI MA3DSJEPMFQ8, CAGE 201W8, and SAM.gov registration for federal solicitations.
The network's turning cell includes 2-axis CNC chucker and bar lathes with 1-5/8 inch bar capacity and servo turrets, a CNC lathe with 2.65 inch spindle bore, 10.2 inch maximum turning diameter, and 25 HP for heavier roughing cuts, and a CNC lathe with 3.05 inch spindle bore at 10.2 inch maximum turning diameter for larger chucker work. For parts needing cross-drilling, milled flats, or off-axis features, a CNC lathe with 2.05 inch spindle bore and live tooling finishes complete without a second milling op.
Additional platforms include a CNC lathe with 2.05 inch spindle bore at 8.2 inch maximum turning diameter, a CNC lathe with 2.00 inch through-spindle bore running 60 to 6,000 RPM, and a high-precision CNC lathe with 2.0 inch bar capacity holding plus/minus .0001 inch repeatability for the tightest turned features. Manual chucker lathes hold plus/minus .0002 inch on supporting operations. Materials routinely run include aluminum alloys, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, brass, bronze, copper, and engineering plastics; titanium and high-nickel alloys are available on request.
Routine turning tolerances ship at plus/minus .0002 inch, with repeatability on the high-precision lathe to plus/minus .0001 inch. Concentricity between diameters is controlled by completing critical features in a single chucking wherever the drawing allows, and live-tool work consolidates cross features into the same op. First-article and in-process verification is performed on a benchtop optical comparator and with calibrated hand gauging, and every part ships against documented inspection records under the network's ISO 9001:2015 program.
